❥🎸 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐌𝐨𝐤 麥顥姸／Musician and Therapist
Originally from Hong Kong, Holly Mak is a musician and therapist who has called Taipei home for the past three years. Before moving to Taiwan, she also lived and studied in the UK, Australia, and Canada.
Having spent much of her life moving between cultures, Holly has often felt like a foreigner wherever she goes. Over time, she has found a sense of “home” in the feeling of not fully belonging anywhere. For over two decades, writing and playing music has been her way of building connections with herself and with people across cultures and languages.
While Holly regularly plays keyboard with Formosa Improv Group (FIG), she’s excited to share some of her original guitar pieces at this special show at Fembooks.
麥顥姸（Holly）來自香港，是一位音樂家與心理諮商師，過去三年定居於台北。來台之前，她也曾在英國、澳洲和加拿大生活、求學。一路走來，在不同文化之間移動的經驗，讓 Holly 常常覺得，無論身在世界的哪個角落，自己似乎都是個外來者。慢慢地，她也開始在這種「不完全屬於任何地方」的感覺裡，找到屬於自己的歸屬感。二十多年來，創作和演奏音樂一直是 Holly 與自己連結、也與不同文化和語言背景的人們建立連結的方式。平時，Holly 會和福爾摩沙即興組合（FIG）一起演出，負責鍵盤演奏。這次在女書店的特別演出，她很期待能和大家分享幾首自己的原創吉他作品！
❥🎤 𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐁𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐨𝐧／Comedian
Kate Billington is a British comedian who fled her home country because she couldn’t keep track of who the Prime Minister was. She has lived in Taipei since 2023, and previously lived in Paris for eight years.
Kate comes from a family of theatre addicts and has been performing for as long as she can remember. Her first love is amateur theatre, but she began standup comedy in 2019 and hasn’t stopped since. She was delighted to discover a thriving standup scene in Taipei, and after a year here she launched Funny Women, Taiwan’s only all-female and non-binary comedy show. It’s now the biggest English show in Taipei and takes up most of Kate’s time and energy, much to the irritation of her employer. (In all seriousness, Kate also loves her “real” job of teaching, and not only because she can test out jokes on her students.)
Kate is passionate about supporting women and minority genders in the arts, and firmly believes in the power of performance to help everybody find their voice - and share it with the world.

Started learning improv in 2021 to help her start her teaching career. As a shy person, she thought learning improv would help her overcome her shyness and be able to stand in a classroom as a teacher. Turned out to be a great idea! She did overcome her shyness and started enjoying herself very much in the classroom as well as on stage.
She moved to Taiwan in 2023 and has met a lot of amazing people. Living abroad has been challenging, but also rewarding. Since January 2026, she started performing as a clown, and it has been met with a lot of love from the audience.
